About

I seek the moments in between. The glance before the smile, the stillness before the step, the quiet tension where a story might emerge. Whether in wild landscapes or a bare studio, I’m drawn to images that invite curiosity, not certainty.

About me

Hi, I’m Klaas — a photographer based in the Amsterdam area, though my camera and I often wander through other corners of Europe. I’ve been photographing, on and off, since my teenage years. While I remain an amateur in the sense that I don’t make my living from it, my artistic ambitions are anything but casual.

My Work & Style

I’m drawn to images that raise questions rather than hand out answers. My work often moves between contrasts:

  • Empowerment and vulnerability
  • Human presence and the wildness of nature
  • Strength and quiet introspection

My photographs range from outdoor, natural-light shoots in dunes, forests, and mountains to studio work with clean, minimalist compositions. Whether in a remote Swiss valley or a room in a building that breathes history, I’m always looking for that moment where authenticity meets artistry.

Collaboration

I value clear communication and a grounded, relaxed energy on set , creating space where creative risks feel safe. I believe the best images are co-creations, shaped by the shared trust and vision of everyone involved.
